  • I was hoping that the elementary news texts would be grammatically easier than the pre-intermediate texts but this one ['Jungle' refugee camp in Calais closed] has many examples of the passive and the present perfect! And relative clauses! I teach various levels and would really appreciate topical news reports that are easily accessible to the lower levels but with the right degree of challenge - without the confusion of passives. I teach ESOL so this most recent news report is of particular interest and I welcome it but...
