Listen, watch and read … with Owl Hall, your learners can do it all!
The audio serialization on onestopenglish
This works as a standalone audio version of the story, following the main character Kara and her experience at spooky Owl Hall. Kara’s story is told here in thirteen parts and each episode comes with an accompanying lesson plan, which includes student worksheets, full audio transcripts and answer keys. Episode 1 is free to all onestopenglish users, and you can also read Lindsay Clandfield’s article on getting more out of Owl Hall, which gives lots of extra suggestions for using Owl Hall in the classroom.
The website
The Owl Hall website is an integral part of the Owl Hall story. As the story develops through the episodes, students will hear Kara talking about the Owl Hall website and about the blog that she writes and the video she films on her mobile phone during her time there. The Owl Hall website is a place where your students can go to find out about Owl Hall – the house itself, the main characters and their stories. They can also watch Kara’s video tour of Owl Hall and read and comment on her blogs as she writes them.
The book
To complete the Owl Hall multimedia experience, check out the brand-new Owl Hall Reader. This is a new type of Macmillan Reader where the website is an integral part of the story, just as it is here on onestopenglish. Kara accesses the Owl Hall website throughout the story, and students are encouraged to refer to the website at certain points in the book.
