  • BTW - my students all loved learning about Hanukkah with your lesson plan. Here in Barcelona, there isn't a big Jewish community - and I think I'm the only Jewish person they know!! Thanks again for having this plan available.

  • Thank you for a great lesson. Just a note in the text about the lighting of the candles for Hannukah: the Hannukiah holds 9 candles - usually 8 are in a row, and one is offset. We first light that offset candle, and use it to light the others. So the first night, 2 candles are burning, the second has 3, on and on until the last (8th) night when 9 are lit. That offset candle has a name, and of course, I don't know it... shamash? I don't know...
