  • I like this activity a lot, but be aware that it is very dependent on your class. If the students are lively and engaged and the class atmosphere is relaxed, it's fine. With most of my classes, the activity has worked a treat.

In a recent class, however, the activity suddenly became very tough going - the students moaned about the difficulty of finding the words, of using the words, and of having to remember the sequence of sentences. So if you have a class of students who perhaps don't all get along, or who tend to be, let's say, on the whiny side, then I'd pass on this activity.

  • This is a really creative activity. I used with a class of 12 teenagers and it really engaged them. The fact that they were passing their verbs on to the next group make them really want to find new and challenging words.
