June finds us coming to the end of the school year and tying together a number of questions and discussions in CLIL.
This month's issue of CLIL Teacher has a summary of a discussion fielded in the Young Learners and Teenagers SIG Yahoo email group.
Discussion was fast, furious and far reaching and you can read an overview of all the key points in the leader article this month.
There is a methodology article which takes a look at the pros and cons of top-down and bottom-up approaches to implementing CLIL projects from highly experienced Dr Brian Bielenberg. His conclusions suggest we can't ever forget the real people on the ground who implement any project - the teachers themselves.
Uncovering CLIL gets a review from Gilberto Fernandez who works as a trainer and advisor at the CPR or Centro de Professorado y Recursos in Asturias, Spain. Gilberto highlights the highlights and suggests areas to include for a revised edition.
Café CLIL deals with the issue of assessment in CLIL and you can take a look at the main questions raised as well as listen to the whole recording from this month's issue of CLIL Teacher.
And for a little fun at the end of the year why not try out the new experiments with your Young Learners. Direct from the Science Museum in London, with accompanying worksheets and teacher's notes, these are a great way to end the year with a bang! The experiment Gone with a Bang can be downloaded for free.
We may be tying up and tidying up at the end of this school year, but you can guarantee that there will be plenty of areas for us to discuss and share ideas and information in the new school year, 2009-2010.
