This section deals with some general questions about using onestopenglish.

What is onestopenglish?

Onestopenglish is the number one teaching resource site for English Language teachers. A subscription to onestopenglish will provide you with access to:

  • our entire database of thousands of resources

  • weekly news lessons from the Guardian

  • regular content updates, with new and updated resources published every month

  • lessons with audio and video

  • songs, games, videos and flashcards for children and teenagers

Who writes the onestopenglish materials?

Most of the materials are written by experienced ELT authors who are or were ELT educators. You’ll find lesson plans from Macmillan authors, such as Carol Read, and experts in the field, such as Russell Stannard, Adrian Tennet, and Jo Budden.  There are a number of regular contributors to the site who write materials for current events and topics, including Tim Bowen, Colm Boyd, and Karen Richardson.  Some lessons come to us from teachers around the world who enter our Lesson Share competition - each winning entry has been professionally edited by us.  When you see a lesson plan titled Lesson Share, you know a teacher has contributed original work.

I would like to submit material to your site. How can I get my work published?

Enter our Lesson Share competition and you could be a onestopenglish author of the future! Click here for further details: https://www.onestopenglish.com/professional-development/lesson-share

I would like to buy books from Macmillan Education. How can I do this?

Onestopenglish does not sell books directly. To search for any Macmillan Education title and for the details of your local distributors and representatives, please visit www.macmillanenglish.com. You will also find links to Macmillan products and services around the onestopenglish site, which will take you directly to more information on that particular product or service.

I would like to print out materials to use with my class. Can you grant me permission to do this?

Yes, you can print out materials to use directly with your class. Your students are allowed to take these materials home and keep them for their private use. However, you cannot redistribute anything as part of a library, archive, intranet or similar service. Nor may you modify, reproduce, sell, lend, hire out or in any way commercially exploit any of the content. For further information, please read our terms and conditions here: https://www.onestopenglish.com/tandcs

I would like to put some of your materials on my own site. Can I do this?

Onestopenglish resources are for personal use or for pedagogical purposes with a class only. You do not have permission to load any onestopenglish resource to another website in any form, including but not restricted to worksheets, lesson plans or teaching tips. If you would like to link to www.onestopenglish.com from another site, please contact us. We are usually very happy to give permission and may be able to supply you with a graphic image.

Will I be put on a lot of mailing lists if I register or subscribe?
