Beyond: A2: Extra resources

Beyond is a new course for teenagers, focused on developing the linguistic skills and strategies language learners need. Here we gather together extra resources at A2 level for each unit to help you and your students go beyond the textbook.

Unit 1: Welcome to my world

This lesson plan teaches the names of shops as well as ‘there is’ and ‘there are’.

Unit 2: Night and day

Pronunciation skills: Adverbs of frequency

Adverbs of frequency such as always and sometimes are a familiar teaching point. This lesson by Jonathan Marks practises some of these phrases with a particular focus on their stress patterns.

Unit 6: It's your turn

Topics: Sport

The lesson is available at two language levels (Pre-intermediate and Intermediate +) and gives students practice in reading, listening and speaking skills, as well as exercises focusing on grammar and vocabulary.

Unit 8: On the move

Means of transport

This lesson plan aims to teach the different types of transport and reinforce prepositions such as ’by’ and ’on’.

Unit 10: Special days
