A Time to Travel: Brazil: Lost in the rainforest

Our teenage time-traveller, Amber, is transported to the Brazilian rainforest. In this lesson, students will: learn about the Amazon rainforest; practise extensive and intensive listening and a range of listening sub-skills; identify a variety of tropical animals; have a discussion about places they would like to visit with a time machine.

  • Hi Nikki,

Apologies for the confusion. There was an extra, unnecessary instruction in the teacher's notes which has now been removed.

    Best wishes,

  • It is great but there are questions missing. Rainforest animals task... Questions 1-2 and then question 7. Can we please have questions 3-6.

  • Hi Seuss,

Thanks for the feedback. You're absolutely right. As they live in rainforests in Africa though, we think it's useful to keep them in this lesson!

  • Hi George,

Great! Have you used any of the other A Time To travel lesson plans yet?

How about giving your students a rating task. So using the animals in the worksheet, they have to put the animals in order of which they think are the top three most dangerous. You could choose a few students to try and convince the class and then have a vote.

Or you could play the 'yes no' game where students have to guess what animal you or another student is thinking of by asking questions that produce the answer 'yes' or 'no'. So for example, can it fly?

    Hope you can use these!
