Weekly news lesson 275: 16th February 2012: Girl becomes youngest sailor to circumnavigate globe single-handed

In January, 16-year-old Dutch sailor Laura Dekker became the youngest person to complete a solo voyage around the world. Dekker had wished to set sail aged 14, but courts in the Netherlands refused permission and she was placed under the guardianship of the Dutch authorities. She is now reluctant to return to her homeland.
