Monthly news lesson: Universal basic income is becoming an urgent necessity

The news lessons are always adapted from actual Guardian articles so the material is authentic and therefore not easy to grade for the very lowest levels. However, we do have elementary news lessons that you can use if the pre-intermediate lesson is too tricky.

  • The pre-intermediate lesson seems very over-the-top for that level. I like the priming question about what words they would expect to find in an article on the subject, but I would more suggest that activity for advanced students who have a higher number of words in their SL.
