• Listening

  Our vibrant listening skills section contains a whole host of tips and innovative lesson ideas for your listening classes. Check out our series of mini-plays on British culture, our audio soap opera, audio serializations of a selection of Macmillan Readers, our series of authentic interviews and lots more.

• Reading

  Our reading skills section contains a huge bank of tips and lesson ideas. Choose from a selection of topic-based lesson plans written by Jackie McAvoy, and take a look at Adrian Tennant's series of articles for techniques and strategies for teaching reading.

• Pronunciation

  This section features tips and suggestions for teaching pronunciation, plus practice activities for you to download and use with your students. The latest addition to this section is a series of listening activites and worksheets by Adrian Tennant.

• News lessons

  Topical news lessons based on articles from the Guardian, our principal news partner. All articles are edited to three language levels by our expert authors (Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced), and are accompanied by pre- and post-reading activities. News lessons are available weekly to Staff Room members and monthly to all onestopenglish users.

• Vocabulary

  Perplexed by phrasal verbs? Mystified by metaphors? Need to put some va va voom into your vocabulary lessons? Let our panel of expert authors come to your rescue with comprehensive explanations about common vocabulary related issues, plus a whole host of innovative ideas to take to your classroom.
