The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain is set in 1844 on the Mississippi River in North America. The novel tells the story of Tom, who lives with his Aunt Polly in St Petersburg, Missouri. He and his friend, Huckleberry Finn, are always in trouble and one night they witness a fight between Injun Joe, the Doctor and Muff Potter.
