ESOL: English for speakers of other languages
The different needs of students of EFL (English as a Foreign Language), ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and ESL (English as a Second Language) is a theme which is hotly debated at conferences, in forums, news and journals across the world. For this section of onestopenglish, we have loosely defined ESOL and ESL as being aimed at students who need English because they are living in a country where English is spoken widely, as the native language, as the language of commerce, etc.
We have recognized an opportunity to provide specific materials to meet this requirement. The lesson plans in this section have been prepared by Chris Speck, a former winner of the onestopenglish lesson share competition who works with ESOL classes in Hull, UK. We are committed to expanding and developing the materials available in this section, and welcome your opinions on ways to improve it. Write to the web editor with your suggestions.
