Number one for English language teachers

Managing a patient’s dietary needs

Part three of a series of English-language worksheets for nurses. In this set of reading and listening activities, students learn how to apply the essentials of nutrition and hydration in evaluating the dietary needs of a patient.

Nurses are often responsible to assist patients in achieving optimum nutrition and hydration. Therefore, it is essential that nurses both understand and apply the essentials of nutrition and hydration to their daily lives and that of their clients.

Students will learn:

  • vocabulary and principles of healthy diet and food intake
  • to help patients to make healthy changes to their food and fluid intake
  • how to promote the dignity of patients needing nutritional support
  • how to suggest helpful eating strategies for patients

  • Excellent! I am Teaching in a Vocational Training Course for Nurses, and they have an elementary level of English and it´s difficult to find resources related to nursing at this level. So your resources help me a lot although they need to be adapted first
    Thank you so much.
