How Oil and Gas were Formed

Students learn how oil and gas were formed over two million years ago.

Oil and gas were formed when the bodies of tiny plants and creatures in the sea were covered by sand and mud and subjected to increasing pressure and temperature over time. Students see for themselves this process in action and practise using key vocabulary and the past simple to describe a sequence of events.

  • Hello Anne,

Thank you very much for your comment. The video animation on the above PowerPoint appears to work for us. Do you have Flash Player installed on your computer? You could also try downloading the Powerpoint on to your computer, right clicking on the link at the bottom of the screen and selecting 'Save with ...' and then saving the file onto your computer.

If this still doesn't work, please contact help@macmillan.com and we will be happy to advise you further.

    Best wishes and happy teaching!
