  • Hi there,

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry you cannot access the worksheets. Do you have Adobe reader? You should be able to access each worksheet simply by clicking on the title of each lesson. Can you tell us what happens when you click on the title of the lesson and we can try and fix this issue?

    Many thanks,

  • Hello,
I can't access these worksheets even though I just payed the subscription fee. I can't believe this and am quite upset.

  • Hi bartonim,

Thanks for your feedback and great to hear that you have enjoyed using these resources. They are actually adapted from a number of different books and as such it is not be possible to find an entire print copy all in one place.

With regards to updates, the site is constantly being updated with new series and new materials and there is an ongoing edit to ensure that materials are both relevant and usable.

Please feel free to leave any further suggestions or comments you have as user feedback is always welcome and useful.

    Best wishes,

    The onestopenglish team

  • I've used many of these activities over and over again, and they are quite successful, but I must confess I am not sure which book/books these come from. I'd like to find an entire copy, particularly with the activities like the Can cards, Body snap, and so forth. Is the original book still available? I am also after a bit more printables if I can't track down the book (s). Updates and additions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • Hi there,

I'm afraid we don't have the audio available for the listening activities. We're aware this is far from ideal and we're sorry if this makes your lesson planning a challenge. The only thing I can recommend is saying the transcript aloud in the classroom or recording a friend reading the transcript out using your smartphone.

Many apologies again and just to let you know we will be reviewing this section in the coming months.

  • Dear Paige,

Thank you for your comment and I'm sorry to hear you're regretting your decision to subscribe. I'd like to point you towards some resources that I think will be suitable for 12 year olds. I hope these suggestions will help.

Firstly, I think our new listening series 'A Time to Travel' contains some lessons that younger learners / young teens would love. Here's the link (you'll have to copy and paste the links from this comment box):

    http://www.onestopenglish.com/teenagers/a-time-to-travel/

Then, I'd take a look at Grammarman for a novel way to practise grammar. Because you're dealing with younger learners, I'd only use some of the comics in this series. A few of them might not be suitable. You can find these resources here:

    http://www.onestopenglish.com/grammar/grammarman/

Your students might like Animal Top Trumps:

    http://www.onestopenglish.com/games/top-trumps/

For those that still like to do a bit of arts and crafts these lessons might be good:

    http://www.onestopenglish.com/clil/young-learners/arts-and-crafts/

Also, we'll be publishing a new serialized reader tomorrow called 'The prince and the pauper' which I think could be just about right age-wise for your students.

games are always a great motivator so you could have a look at these ones. Street Cats is the best!

    http://www.onestopenglish.com/games/free-games/

Finally, my general advice, which you may already be doing so apologies in advance if you are, is to use the 'search by category' area in the top right-hand side of the site. This will allow you to select young learners and teens to widen your search results and potentially find more resources that could work well with 12 year olds.

I hope this helps you and please let us know if you're looking for something more specific. I'd be happy to help.

  • I agree about there being TOO many resources for little children. I teach a lot of 12 year olds and there is very little. I am starting to regret the 53 euro I paid ! I am not sure I will recommend the site.

  • First of all I’m sorry to hear you’re unhappy with the young learner content and I’ll make sure it’s fed back to our Commissioning Editor. We are currently planning new young learner content so this area will be updated. You mentioned you’d like more material that doesn’t rely on a class situation. Does this mean you’re teaching young learners in a one-to-one setting? There are some great videos for young learners called ‘M tunes song videos’ which I thought might be useful. You can find them here http://www.onestopenglish.com/games/m-tunes-song-videos/ . We also have a wonderful set of phonics flashcards for young learners which would be ideal for a more informal setting. You can find these here http://www.onestopenglish.com/children/onestop-phonics/onestop-phonics-part-1/.
Finally, we have published a huge variety of content-rich resources in the Young Learners CLIL section, including science experiments you can do one-to-one or in small groups: http://www.onestopenglish.com/clil/young-learners/.

Please let me know if this is not what you are looking for or if you have further suggestions. You can reply to this thread or contact us here http://www.onestopenglish.com/contact-us/.

  • Please could you update the children's sections with worksheets that don't always rely on a class situation. Many of the existing worksheets are positively archaic and refer to 'cassettes' to be listened to in conjunction with the exercise. As I am paying for my membership here and the children's section has barely changed since I joined a few years ago, I am beginning to wonder if my money wouldn't be better spent in buying a new English language course book each year.

  • Dear Michelle,
This isn't the only location for young learner resources. For example, if you hover over the 'Children' tab at the top of the page, you will find Selections stories (at six different levels) under ‘Stories and poems’, under the ‘Teenagers’ heading for Spot on news lessons and project work and the CLIL section contains educational material for both young learners and teens at a range of levels.
Thank you for your feedback, we will take it into consideration when deciding on future publishing.
    Best wishes,
    The onestopenglish team

  • Having been a member of Onestopenglish for many years please could I request that the resources for children/young teenagers be reviewed. Almost all resources are for either beginners or elementary level. Please could you add resources for this age group but at pre-intermediate/intermediate and advanced levels. Many thanks.

  • I like these resources but am disappointed that almost all of the materials in this entire section labeled "Children" are for beginners. What about those 10-12 year old children who already know a lot of English?
